The Association for Counselor Education and Supervision is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Marsha Wiggins as ACES’ Interim Executive Director. Marsha succeeds Shirley Brown who served as ACES’ first executive director, and who stepped down from the position in June 2012. According to Gerard Lawson, ACES Immediate Past-president, “We learned a great deal from working with Shirley, about how ACES can best utilize the services of an Executive Director. One of the conclusions that we came to was that it would be beneficial to have someone who is more intimately familiar with the work that counselor educators do. We were fortunate to have found both the administrative skills required and a long professional history with ACES when we hired Marsha Wiggins.” Marsha recently retired from the University of Colorado – Denver, where she had worked since 1993 including serving as the Chair of the Counseling Psychology & Counselor Education Department. In addition, Marsha has a long and impressive history of scholarship and service in the counselor education profession, including serving as president of the Rocky Mountain region of ACES (RMACES).  Marsha will be involved in the day-to-day operation of the Association, will serve as a liaison to ACES members, and will help to implement the vision of ACES elected leadership and Executive Council.
